One of our amazing Clu clients, The Fund for Global Human Rights, is seeking a Director of Programs, and we're using our network to help them find this exciting new hire.

This small but mighty INGO has been at the forefront of progressive human rights activism for over 20 years. Since its founding, the Fund has raised and delivered more than $165 million for the work of activists in more than 80 countries.

As their new Director of Programs, you are not just a leader; you’re a bridge, a coach, and a force for coherence. You understand the Fund’s work is synonymous with complexity, and you lead through relationships, not control.

Grounded in deep grant-making experience and a justice-first mindset, you bring clarity without dominance and influence without ego. Your superpower is listening deeply and translating ambition into alignment, strategy into shared action, and values into day-to-day practices.

You’ve worked across cultures, geographies, and power dynamics, likely within human rights intermediaries or social justice networks. You’ve held space for conflict without absorbing it, built cohesion among strong personalities, and helped others move through change with clarity and confidence.

As Director of Programs, you will:

Coach and empower a high-performing team of regional Program Directors to lead with confidence and autonomy.
Navigate evolving leadership structures with empathy and strategy, reinforcing trust across departments and stakeholders.
Shape and steward strategic coherence without flattening contextual nuance.
Ensure the Fund’s work remains values-led, globally grounded, and operationally aligned.
Act as a connective tissue between internal culture and external representation, embodying the Fund’s mission to partners, funders, and communities.

The Director of Programs doesn’t seek the limelight; you make sure everyone else shines. You see power in collaboration, purpose in stewardship, and success in what you build through others.

Multi-lingual applicants with a lived or working experience of the Global South are preferred.

This is a UK-based role, but the Fund is open to international applicants who are willing to relocate to the UK, pending eligibility for sponsorship.
