About us

Greater Share is a philanthropic investment that channels private equity returns into additional, long-term, and unrestricted funding to high-impact NGOs, initially focused on education. Structured as a “Fund of Funds,” it pools investments from individuals, allocates them to top performing private equity partners—who waive all fees—and donates at least 50% of net gains to selected NGOs for 10+ years, while returning principal and up to half the gains to investors. This model amplifies charitable giving by leveraging institutional investment performance, offers tax benefits, and empowers NGOs to plan and operate sustainably, and deliver large-scale, systemic social change globally.

The nuts and bolts

Starting date: negotiable but no later than 01/12/2025

Salary: £39.8-55.1K + annual inflation [depending on experience]

Location: Hybrid working in London is preferred (2 days per week in Holborn/Peckham).

We will also consider fully remote arrangements for candidates based elsewhere in the UK.

Hours: Compressed hours will be considered

Contract: open-ended

Holiday entitlement: unlimited paid time off

Right to work: We regret that we are unable to consider candidates without the right to work in the UK for a remaining two years.

What You’ll Do

We’re looking for a self-managed, highly articulate, and organised Business Development Manager to help convert a large pipeline of high-net-worth individuals and family foundations into major donors/investors. You’ll play a central role in securing six- and seven-figure commitments, resulting in long term, flexible multimillion grants to preserve nature capital.

Your focus will be to support exceptionally well-connected but time-poor Board and Committee members in cultivating prospects: tailoring compelling proposals, maintaining momentum through the pipeline, and managing our CRM to ensure no opportunity is missed.

We would love to hear from you if you have this essential experience...

3-5 years’ experience in major gift or philanthropy new business roles, specifically supporting senior executives to leverage their networks (e.g. Board/Development Board), either in UK or US
Proven experience managing and analysing a sales pipeline with CRM systems
Strong track record in tailoring compelling proposals
Exposure to private capital, social impact investing or blended finance

Professional exposure to nature-based interventions and social impact approaches addressing environmental and climate-related issues (such as conservation, land management, ocean protection)

You can also offer the following skills

Exceptional writing and communication skills, particularly in online meetings
Highly organised
Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and high-net-worth individuals
Strong HubSpot or similar CRM experience
Adept with PowerPoint and Open Ai tools
