What You’ve Done

An excellent track record as a public school leader in communities with compromised access to opportunity. We’d like to see evidence that your school is high-performing and that you’ve had a direct impact on school performance (adult culture, student achievement, antiracist practices, etc…)
At least eight years of work experience; Master’s degree preferred
Professional experience as an assistant principal, principal (preferred), principal manager, and/or coaching and developing school leaders

What You’ll Be Doing

Client Services

Ensure incredible participant experience in our cohorts and projects through meticulous planning and intentional execution.
Coach leaders and teams directly.
Collaborate with other SLL team members - we co-facilitate and lean into one another’s engagements.
Work in-person in DC as client needs dictate - typically 2-3 days per week, but could be more.
Be available to travel (outside of the DC area) up to 33%.

Program and Organizational Development

Commit to the hard work of creating and sustaining a healthy team so that we model the values we ask our clients to live.
Contribute to executing our strategic plan to maximize impact and ensure organizational sustainability.
Work closely with the Managing Partner and other program team members to create and codify best-in-class programming, i.e., develop a scope and sequence of learning for a core SLL course on people leadership or revise the scope and sequence of an existing course. This means running a transparent and inclusive process and gathering and incorporating feedback from team members, clients, experts, and other stakeholders.

Business Development

Manage the communication, recruitment, and selection process for cohorts.
Work closely with the team to identify new opportunities, connect with potential clients, and support broadening and deepening our impact.
Represent SLL by staying active in the education community e.g., attending conferences and other gatherings to build relationships.

Compensation and Benefits

We are open to candidates coming from a range of positions and are committed to hiring for impact rather than a certain set of experiences. The range for this salary is $100,000 - $145,000 based on experience. We offer a benefits package of medical, dental, vision, and life insurance as well as a 401(K) and short-term disability. SLL is closed on most federal holidays and provides five weeks of paid leave annually.
