About Norrsken Foundation
Norrsken is a non-profit foundation with a clear mission: to build thriving impact ecosystems where entrepreneurs solve the world's greatest challenges. Today, the Norrsken ecosystem connects more than 50 000 founders, funders and supporters in a global ecosystem dedicated to positive impact. Our award-winning Norrsken House hubs in Barcelona, Kigali, Brussels and Stockholm, and five venture capital funds with >750mUWD under management give founders the knowledge, capital, network, and spotlight they need, to make saving the planet their business.
To further our mission, we are looking for a Head of Expansion and Strategic Initiatives to the Norrsken Foundation team to drive the next frontiers of positive impact. This is a global role based in Stockholm, involving significant international travel. As we expand into new markets, the role may also create opportunities for extended stays abroad to support the set up phase.
You will be reporting directly to our co-CEO and work closely with the management team and the board.
About the role
The primary focus of this role will be to lead Norrsken’s work to expand globally, anchored around Norrsken hubs. You will own the full expansion pipeline and lead the work from market exploration, establishing partnerships, finding real estate to successful launch and hand-over to a local team well plugged into the global ecosystem. The role will also include opportunities to lead additional strategic initiatives, such as levelling up our annual Impact/100 list of the world’s most promising impact founders and initiating new concepts to build strong relationships with family offices & nextgens. No day will look the same in this role, and it will span from complex strategic thinking to rolling up your sleeves and getting good sh*t done.
Concretely, it will for example include (but not be limited to):
- Own Norrsken’s global expansion strategy
- Lead end to end project management of new Norrsken House or project launches
- Build local partnerships to co-finance expansion as well as add local expertise
- Negotiate strategic real estate and partnership agreements that align with Norrsken’s mission and model
- Serve as a key spokesperson and advocate for Norrsken in new markets, building trust and excitement with entrepreneurs, investors and governments
- Own the expansion blueprint of how to best make each hub both run smoothly operationally and achieve its larger role as a lighthouse for positive impact
- Lead a small team of three people working jointly on expansion, partnerships and strategic initiatives
A job at Norrsken is like working at a startup. It’s a fast-paced and exciting place to work. Tasks and challenges may be demanding, responsibilities may change over time, but we guarantee that in return we will fast-forward your personal and professional development. And, you’ll get to work in a team of caring people with similar aspirations. Ten years from now, you will be proud of the projects and ideas you have developed and acted on together.
Who you are:
Most importantly, you are someone who genuinely wants to make the world a better place and believes that entrepreneurship can be great driving forces for this. Also, you have:
- 7+ years experience from leading projects that are both strategic and operational in nature. E.g. from management consulting or building a startup/scale-up
- Proven ability to tackle a broad set of tasks, with the ability to contribute both in the details as well as to high-level strategic discussions

- Exceptional project management skills, with strong ownership and drive.
- Demonstrated experience managing diverse stakeholders across various levels in an international context
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a multifunctional team
And as a bonus, you have experience in expansion and property management, or in scaling operations across geographies.
