This is a pivotal time in ESSA’s journey and ambition as we march towards our 10th anniversary, and the Director of Policy and Impact will fill a role that is critical for the success of ESSA’s mission. (S)He will provide leadership across policy and impact, and be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy that ensures uptake of evidence and data from Africa by policymakers, practitioners, education leaders, and funders, to improve the quality of education in the region.
The Director of Policy and Impact will oversee ESSA’s Policy and Impact Team, providing leadership on policy-weighted projects and partnerships to drive change in policy and practice. (S)He will also direct ESSA’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) function, enabling the uptake of evidence and measuring and understanding our impact within ESSA and externally. The appointed candidate will work closely with ESSA’s Director of Research and our Head of Communications to ensure that our research leads to impact and is communicated effectively. The Director of Policy and Impact will collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), ensuring that ESSA’s strategy delivers on its charitable objectives.
