The late Paul Ramsay AO established the Foundation in 2006 and, after his death in 2014, left most of his estate to continue his philanthropy for generations to come.
At PRF, we work for a future where people and places have what they need to thrive.
With organisations and communities, we invest in, build, and influence the conditions needed to stop disadvantage in Australia.

Job Description
About the role
As an Associate in the Learning and Impact Team, you will play a key role in leading and managing PRF’s learning, evaluation and impact activities across partnerships and portfolios.
While evaluation is a central mechanism for the role, this is not a purely technical evaluation position. The emphasis is on connecting evaluation to learning, strategy, and action — turning insights into meaningful decisions and improvements across the Foundation.
You’ll help shape evaluation approaches, develop Theories of Change, manage external evaluations, and build the capability of teams to embed learning and evidence into their work. You’ll also help capture and share insights about what’s working, what’s changing, and how PRF can continue to create lasting impact.
Key responsibilities
Strategy and design
- Support the development of PRF’s learning, evaluation and impact strategy, frameworks and resources.
- Partner with teams to design package outcomes, Theories of Change, and learning approaches aligned to PRF’s overarching Theory of Change.
- Contribute to the development of outcome goals, reporting plans and evaluation approaches for new partnerships.
Execution
- Manage a portfolio of learning, evaluation and impact projects at partnership and portfolio levels.
- Collaborate with grant managers and impact area teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Engage and manage external evaluators and research partners, ensuring quality and relevance of outputs.
Learning and insights
- Document and share emerging insights, lessons learned and best practices across the Foundation.
- Produce reports and analysis to inform internal strategy, leadership discussions, and public communications.
- Support impact reporting and portfolio reviews to strengthen PRF’s understanding of its outcomes and impact.
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
You bring a strong mix of analytical thinking, project management and curiosity for learning and social impact. You are equally comfortable with data and dialogue — able to make sense of complex information and translate it into practical insight and action.
You will also have:
- Demonstrated experience in evaluation, research or performance analysis (ideally in philanthropy, social policy or community settings).
- Understanding of qualitative and quantitative evaluation and impact measurement methods — and how they can inform learning and strategy.
- Experience facilitating workshops or sessions to develop Theories of Change or make sense of data and insights.
- Interest in areas such as poverty and disadvantage, children and families, place-based work, or First Nations communities.
- Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- A collaborative, proactive and resourceful approach—comfortable working both independently and in cross-functional teams.
What we offer
At PRF, we are committed to helping people grow and build meaningful careers. You’ll have access to:
- Generous learning and development opportunities
- Flexible working arrangements
- Employee benefits and assistance programs (EAP)
- Education assistance and wellbeing support
We value diversity and inclusion, and we’re committed to building a workplace that reflects the communities we work with. We welcome people from all backgrounds to apply.
