Job Title: Senior Impact Evaluator
Salary: £45,100 - £60,400
Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (at least 2 days per week in the office)
Contract: Permanent, Full time (35 hours per week)
We are recruiting for a Senior Impact Evaluator within Propositions Group at Cambridge University Press & Assessment – English to manage a range of impact evaluation activities which provide evidence of the effectiveness of our products and programmes.

About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced educational researcher with strong quantitative and qualitative skills to join our Impact Evaluation team at Cambridge English. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping how we measure, report, and communicate the impact of our programmes and products, contributing to meaningful change in the field of education and English language learning.
The role will be reporting to the Head of Impact Evaluation. The successful applicant will be required to carry out the following activities:
- Manage and conduct impact evaluation projects end-to-end.
- Develop high-quality research proposals aligned with stakeholder needs.
- Design sampling frameworks and data analysis plans for robust evaluations.
- Create and adapt impact measurement tools for effective data capture.
- Produce clear, actionable evaluation reports for diverse audiences.
- Maintain expertise in evaluation methodologies and best practices.
- Represent the organisation at conferences and thought leadership events.
About you
- PhD in education studies, social sciences, applied linguistics, or related field (exceptional MSc/MA candidates considered).
- Strong theoretical understanding of education, including bilingual education, curriculum design, and assessment.
- Expertise in research design (quasi-experimental and non-experimental).
- Skilled in quantitative and qualitative analysis, including use of relevant software (e.g. R, SPSS, NVivo).
- Excellent communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Collaborative and confident in managing professional relationships.
- Knowledge of one or more foreign languages is desirable.
