To enhance Early Childhood Development (ECD) and reduce Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in underserved and substandard urban settlements of Narayanganj and Gazipur Districts of Dhaka Division in Bangladesh project aims to create a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 3 to 6 through Resource Centre’s (RCs) that will provide daycare services, pre-primary education, and legal aid support for their families. Over the five-year project period, the consistent delivery of ECD services will support the long-term cognitive, emotional, and physical development of children, helping them build a stronger foundation for the future. Sustained legal aid services, community awareness campaigns, and proactive engagement with community members are expected to contribute to reducing GBV, creating a safer, more enabling environment for both the targeted children and the wider community.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join us as the Project Lead (Contractual Position) under the BRAC Education Programme. In this role, you will be responsible for strategic, technical, and managerial leadership for the Early Childhood Development (ECD) & Gender Based Violence (GBV) prevention project in Narayanganj and Gazipur, ensuring integrated implementation across all components. The role also leads advocacy, evidence generation, and sustainability initiatives, builds the capacity of staff, partners, and community stakeholders, and ensures donor compliance, high programme quality, and effective stakeholder engagement to strengthen long-term impact and inform policy and practice.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead overall programme strategy, annual planning, and adaptive management across all project components (ECD, GBV, legal aid, community engagement).
- Ensure coherence, quality, and synergy across Operations, Curriculum & Quality, Finance, M&E, and Communications functions.
- Identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities, proposing timely solutions and programme adjustments.
- Supervise managers directly and indirectly manage project staff, fostering a high-performing, accountable, and learning-oriented culture.
- Oversee recruitment, performance management, mentoring, and professional development of the team.
- Guide capacity-building initiatives for staff, partners, and community stakeholders to strengthen service delivery and sustainability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for donor communication, ensuring timely, strategic, and high-quality reporting.
- Manage relationships with relevant government authorities, partner organizations, city corporations, and civil society actors to enable project success.
- Lead and assist advocacy, evidence generation, and knowledge-sharing to inform programme improvement, policy influence, and sustainability.
- Assist senior leadership team in identifying/engaging policymakers, government line ministries, and development partners to promote ECD and GBV interventions and scale-up strategies.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation, and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise in safeguarding to establish a safe working environment
- Practices promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follows the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourages others to do so
What you should have:
The ideal candidate for this role would be someone with a Master's degree in Management/ Education/ Social Science/ Development Studies/ Public Administration/ International Relations or any other related subject, having a minimum 08-10 years of experience in programme management or project management working in complex & emergencies and in challenging work environments. You must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, sound decision-making under pressure, and a proven track record of end-to-end project implementation. Advanced proficiency in project proposal development, donor reporting, budgeting, and financial oversight is essential.
