The problem we are addressing

To say we are living in “interesting times” is an understatement. We are living in disorienting times fueled by head-spinning technological advances, amidst an era of intense isolation, disruption, and polarization.

These forces are colliding with a public education system that is already in crisis. Students are voting with their feet: saying school is boring, struggling with mental health, and feeling disengaged from their learning.

Meanwhile, AI is disrupting career pathways, confronting young people with dramatic uncertainty about the future, and displacing jobs faster than new ones are being created.

We need to leverage the moment to reorient our approach to learning and rearchitect our education system to meet the needs of learners for the Age of AI.

The opportunity

The Learning to Flourish Network (LFN) is LearnerStudio’s field-building strategy to catalyze systems-level change toward human-centered, human flourishing-aligned learning. The LFN is designed to be deliberately distributed—not a traditional consortium with a fixed agenda, but a living, growing network that finds andcreates opportunities for collective influence and strategic progress. It operates through an AdvisoryCouncil, a broader Steering Committee, and Lever Action Groups converging around shared priorities for action.

We are looking for a Head of Network Engagement to serve as the connective tissue of the LFN - the person who makes this network work day-to-day, ensuring it stays alive, productive, and coherent over time. This is not a back-office coordination role. Network stewardship will require someone with consistent presence, deep relationship knowledge, and the capacity to hold complexity across a large, diverse, distributed membership.

The Head of Network Engagement is the person who holds the threads between the LFN and LearnerStudio.

The role will involve significant, ongoing collaboration with the entire LearnerStudio leadership team.

What you will do

● Collaboratively develop a vision for the role and structure of LFN over time, translating that vision

into concrete plans and action steps.

● Design and facilitate regular LFN gatherings - Advisory Council working sessions, Steering Committee calls, Lever Action Team meetings, and full network convenings.

● Coordinate and support the work of each thematic lever, anticipating and resolving challenges, driving consensus, and ensuring working groups have what they need to move.

● Know the network’s members well enough to make connections across them; notice gaps, tensions, and emerging opportunities within the membership.

● Build communication and engagement structures that keep network members informed, connected, and engaged between formal gatherings through internal communications and relationship touchpoints.

● Support membership growth, manage working group priorities by lever, and ongoing convening design, in coordination with LearnerStudio leadership and Advisory Council members.

● Track what’s working and what isn’t; surface insights to LearnerStudio leadership, align across the team, and adapt the network’s approach accordingly.

● Lead reporting and updates for funders on LFN progress and impact.

What success looks like

The Network will accelerate progress towards rearchitecting American public education around human flourishing in the Age of AI. As the key facilitator of the network, this role will be successful if:

● Network members are consistently engaged, informed, and connected - with growing strategic activity and network alignment.

● Lever Action Teams are producing outputs (frameworks, tools, field positions, funding proposals) that matter to the ecosystem and the furtherance of a future-ready ecosystem.

● LearnerStudio leadership has real-time insight into and coordination with what the network is generating and where it needs support.

● The network increasingly runs on its own energy, with the Facilitator as steward rather than driver.

● LFN has strong systems for tracking, supporting, and storytelling about success and growth.

Who you are

● A leader with 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in network building, coalition management, systems change, entrepreneurship, group facilitation, or related fields.

● Someone with existing relationships and credibility within the education innovation, future-of-learning, or broader education transformation ecosystem.

● A skilled meeting and convening facilitator with a proven track record of designing and leading impactful multi-stakeholder convenings and working groups.

● A nimble navigator of divergent perspectives who can find common ground and pragmatic pathways forward across diverse backgrounds, ideologies, and political viewpoints

● Experience with fundraising, resource mobilization, or funder reporting in nonprofit or philanthropic contexts.

● An organized systems thinker who can manage complexity without losing the human element.

● Relationship-driven: someone trusted by diverse stakeholders who can hold space across differing perspectives.

● Strong analytical, research, pattern recognition, and synthesis skills to scan the landscape, quickly synthesize data, derive actionable insights, and convey complex ideas simply and compellingly.

● A continuous learner mindset that drives the exploration of new tools, frameworks, and technologies, including AI.

● Comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving environment with strong independent judgment.

● Willing to travel approximately 30% of time for in-person convenings and relationship building.

Compensation and Benefits

LearnerStudio’s benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, generous holiday schedule, a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer contribution, wellness benefits, and reimbursement for cell phone/home internet usage.

The salary range for this position is $175,000 to $200,000, commensurate with experience.
