About LIFI
At Learning Initiatives For India (LIFI), we work with children whose education has been interrupted by migration, poverty and other realities that too often push learning out of reach. Through Community Teacher Leaders (CTLs), government partnerships and community-led learning spaces, we're building a sustainable ecosystem for Children Experiencing Education Discontinuity (CEED).
Our vision is simple yet powerful:
पढ़ेगा हर बच्चा, बढ़ेगा हर बच्चा.
As LIFI enters its next phase of growth, we're looking for a leader who has already spent a few years managing education programs and is ready for a bigger challenge - someone who wants to nurture people, strengthen systems, and build programs that create lasting change across multiple states.
What makes this role different?
You'll work where the real work happens.
One week, you could be coaching Community Teacher Leaders in Khargone. The next, strengthening implementation systems in Haryana, reviewing learning data with the M&E team, or engaging with government partners in Delhi.
You'll become the bridge between people, quality and execution, ensuring our programs remain grounded in community realities while growing stronger every year, aligning with Senior Leadership of the organization.
What you'll lead: Build People, Not Just Teams
Great programs are built by confident people.
You'll:
● Mentor Program Associates and Community Teacher Leaders.
● Lead engaging training that strengthens practice, not just participation.
● Coach teams through regular feedback and development conversations.
● Build ownership, accountability and leadership across field teams.
Strengthen Program Quality
You'll ensure our work consistently translates into meaningful learning experiences for children.
You'll:
● Lead planning, execution and review across multiple locations.
● Support teams in solving on-ground implementation challenges.
● Improve consistency and quality across all locations.
● Ensure program commitments are delivered with quality and timeliness.
Build Better Systems
Strong systems help good teams become great teams.
You'll:
● Improve reporting, dashboards and review mechanisms.
● Strengthen assessments and data quality with the M&E team.
● Use evidence to drive better decisions.
● Build practical systems that make implementation simpler and stronger.
Support Learning and Curriculum
You'll help ensure our learning approach stays relevant and meaningful.
You'll:
● Guide curriculum implementation across locations.
● Work with teams to improve learning experiences.
● Connect classroom realities with program design.
Build Strong Partnerships
You'll represent LIFI with credibility and purpose.
You'll:
● Work closely with government partners and schools.
● Support donor reporting with strong implementation insights.
● Collaborate with Partnerships, Operations, Finance and HR to strengthen organisational delivery.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone who enjoys being close to communities and is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey.
Essential Experience
● 6-8 years of experience in education or the development sector.
● Experience managing education programs.
● Experience in coaching and mentoring youth and program people from the grassroots
● Experience leading trainings and providing technical guidance.
● Experience working with government schools or community-based programs.
● Someone who loves travelling and is ok to stay in remote, rural and under-served areas
The kind of person who will thrive here
You're likely a great fit if you:
● Take ownership without waiting to be told.
● Enjoy helping people grow more than simply monitoring them.
● Feel comfortable working in communities like Kirari, Jahangirpuri (Delhi), Ganaur (Sonipat, Haryana), Khargone (Madhya Pradesh), Uttar Pradesh or Bihar.
● Stay calm when priorities shift or timelines change.
● Naturally notice patterns and improve systems.
● Believe every child deserves uninterrupted access to education.
● Creatively enable the team to solve ground-level or team related challenges
What success looks like
We'd love to see you become someone our teams rely on—not because you have all the answers, but because you help everyone work better. Like:
● Program Team is able to drive better outcomes on the ground through your coaching
● More effective training systems across locations.
● Improved dashboards and assessment reviews that support better decisions.
● Greater consistency in implementation across states.
● Stronger trust within the team, community and LIFI's partners.
Why join LIFI?
● Lead meaningful education work that reaches children experiencing education discontinuity.
● Shape programs across multiple states.
● We value continuous learning through dedicated professional development opportunities
● Build people, systems and future leaders.
● Work closely with a collaborative leadership team that values learning, ownership and purpose.
● Grow into a larger organisational leadership role as LIFI expands.
