I. Position Overview: Save the Children Global Ventures (SCGV) is Save the Children’s impact investing and innovative finance platform, established in 2022 to mobilise high-impact capital and leverage Save the Children’s global delivery platform to solve some of the most critical problems facing children. To do so, our team oversees a portfolio of impact investment funds and utilises other innovative structures to catalyse private funders into deep-impact investment opportunities.
At present, SCGV advises two commercially structured impact funds: Save the Children Australia Impact Investment Fund (SCIF), established in 2019, and the Generation Empowerment Fund, focused on Sub-Saharan Africa, alongside SCGV’s Children’s Impact Multiplier Fund, a venture philanthropy vehicle. SCGV is now launching a third fund, the Asia Healthcare Fund, an early-stage healthcare fund focused on Southeast Asia and the Pacific. This new fund targets venture capital-level returns and seeks to generate clear and direct children’s impact, guided by SCGV’s proprietary Child-Lens Investment Framework.
Based in Southeast Asia, ideally in a country where SCGV will be overseeing investments (e.g., Indonesia, the Philippines or Vietnam), the Associate will support Save the Children’s impact investing activities, with a special focus on health and companies whose products and services generate deep impact for children. As a core part of a new and innovative team, the Associate will provide vital analytical and coordination support in building Save the Children’s reputation and networks in the impact investing ecosystem in Asia, helping to identify investment opportunities specifically in the healthcare, nutrition and AI/data sectors, supporting due diligence and contributing to the oversight of a robust investment portfolio.
II. Responsibilities:
- Deal Origination & ExecutionSupport the expansion of SCGV’s healthcare investing platform across the APAC region.
- Support the Asia Healthcare Fund’s Principal and future team across the end-to-end early-stage venture capital transaction process, including opportunity identification, transaction origination, due diligence, structuring, documentation, investment committee approval and closing the transaction.
- Due Diligence & AnalysisContribute to technical due diligence on companies offering primary care access, medical tech and device innovations, AI-based digital diagnostics, medical and nutritional supply chain and infrastructure, including desk-based research and data analysis.
- Support commercial and operational due diligence, financial analysis and valuation studies on prospective venture capital investments.
- Portfolio Management & SupportSupport portfolio companies across the Asia Healthcare Fund, SCIF and the Multiplier Fund, helping founders access the vast resources that Save the Children’s network offers and assisting with impact measurement and reporting.
- Assist with portfolio reviews and help continuously improve the portfolio management process.
- Reporting & GovernanceDraft commercial and impact reports and related materials for approval at Investment Committee and Board meetings for SCIF and the Asia Healthcare Fund.
- Relationship Building & Ecosystem EngagementHelp build and maintain partnerships and relationships with external parties such as accelerators, co-investors and entrepreneurs, specifically but not limited to the health and AI sectors.
- Support the team’s presence in the impact investing space, including preparation for key events and network-building activities.
III. Qualifications:
- Essential Knowledge and ExperienceSome experience (typically three to five years) in venture capital, private equity, corporate finance, consulting or a related field, with an interest in areas of relevance to SCGV including healthcare access (AI/Telehealth), food as medicine (nutrition and supply chains), upskilling frontline healthcare workers (digital solutions and AI-assisted medical devices) and unmet healthcare needs (including women’s health, mental health and climate-exacerbated disease).
- A collaborative, proactive and adaptable working style, comfortable supporting senior colleagues across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise information into clear, well-reasoned insights. This is a core requirement of the role.
- Strong financial acumen, including demonstrated experience building and using financial models and comfort interpreting company financial statements. This is a core requirement of the role.
- Project management and/or consulting experience preferred, with the ability to run multiple workstreams to deadline.
- Clear and concise written and oral communication skills, including the ability to support the drafting of due diligence reports and investment committee memos.
- Interest or experience supporting founders to scale social innovation and engaging C-suite level stakeholders.
- Experience in, or a strong interest in, working in one or more Asian innovation hubs (e.g. Singapore), with an ambition to build networks across Asia.
- Experience operating in geographically dispersed, multi-national teams.
- Desirable Knowledge and ExperienceExperience in or exposure to the healthcare or health-adjacent sectors in Southeast Asia and/or emerging market settings is a nice to have, including primary care access, medical tech and device innovations, AI-based digital diagnostics, and medical and nutritional supply chain and infrastructure.
- Healthcare or health-sector investing experience is also a nice to have. We welcome candidates from both healthcare and investing backgrounds.

- Required Qualifications and/or AccreditationsAt least three years of work experience across private equity, venture capital, M&A, corporate finance, impact investing, consulting or a related field. Healthtech or healthcare investing experience is a nice to have, not a requirement.
- Undergraduate degree in a related field.
- English fluency.
- Pre-authorisation to work in an Asian country where SCGV will be working and/or investing (likely Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and/or Vietnam).
