Human Capital Africa seeks a dynamic PROJECT DIRECTOR to join our leadership team in Abuja, Nigeria.

Duration: 12 months (with possible extension)
Objective:
The Project Director will oversee the implementation of HCA's core workstreams, including Regional Advocacy and Government and Partner Relations. This senior leadership role requires expertise in foundational learning, strategic advocacy, and partnership management. The Project Director will lead day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and funder diversification efforts, ensuring alignment with HCA's mission and objectives.
Scope of Work
- Strategic Leadership and Advocacy
- Drive the implementation of HCA’s advocacy and communication strategies, with a focus on foundational learning outcomes.
- Build and sustain relationships with government leaders, regional bodies, and education stakeholders.
- Project Management
- Oversee planning, execution, and evaluation of HCA’s work, ensuring timely delivery of key milestones.
- Support the development of scalable and impactful models for education reform at national and subnational levels.
- Team Leadership and Organizational Development
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, fostering professional growth and accountability.
- Develop internal capacities to transition HCA into a self-sustaining, high-impact organization.
- Funder Diversification and Financial Sustainability
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap to expand HCA’s funding base, focusing on diverse and innovative funding sources.
- Craft compelling proposals and engagement plans to secure long-term partnerships.
- Ensure effective financial management and resource allocation across projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced degree in Education, Public Policy, International Development, or related fields.
- 10+ years of experience in project management, advocacy, and policy reform, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
- Expertise in foundational learning or education systems reform in Sub-Saharan Africa.
