Purpose
The EdTech & Learning Science Manager will support startups within Injini’s EdTech Fellowship programme and across the organisation, guiding them to meet key milestones and deliver core project components required to develop and deploy effective educational technologies.
Drawing on strong expertise in edtech product development, evidence-based learning science and pedagogical best practice, the role ensures that products and services are grounded in sound research and designed to maximise meaningful learning outcomes.

Responsibilities
- EdTech Support & Product Delivery Provide hands-on support across the product lifecycle, incl. defining roadmaps, prioritising features and delivering high-quality learning solutions. Guide user-centred, iterative product development through research, feedback, and continuous improvement aligned to learning objectives. Apply learning science, pedagogy, and evidence-based practices to strengthen educational content, product design, and implementation. Lead practical workshops and training sessions for start-ups and educators to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
- Development of Educational Tools and Framework Create and refine tools and frameworks that support startups in implementing the science of learning concepts, focused on practical, context-sensitive solutions.
- Impact Evaluation and Reporting Collaborate, as needed, with the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) team to design and conduct evaluations to measure the impact of educational initiatives and interventions, using data to inform continuous improvement. Additionally, collaborate with the MEL team to compile reports and publications that document the successes and learnings of the startup acceleration program, contributing to the broader educational discourse.
- Research and Collaboration Keep up to date with the latest relevant research, translating insights into actionable strategies for the fellowship program. Collaborate with a network of educational professionals, researchers, and institutions to promote knowledge exchange and innovation.
- Strategy Development & Implementation Lead the development and implementation of Injini’s Learning Science Strategy in close collaboration with colleagues and leadership.
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Education, Learning Sciences, Educational Technology or a related field, ideally with a strong applied focus on learning design and educational product development.
- At least five years experience applying learning science principles, ideally within pre-tertiary education settings.
- Successful track record of educational technology implementation and product management roles within the EdTech industry.
- Experience in curriculum development, teacher training, and/or evaluating the efficacy of technology-driven education interventions is highly desirable.

- Product Management Knowledgeable on agile product development methodologies, technical tools and software.
- Contextual Understanding A demonstrated understanding of the African EdTech sector and of the cultural, socio-economic, and educational landscape in Africa.

12-month contract (with the possibility to extend)
Salary: R600 000 CTC salary (neg)
