Position Summary
To advance Teach For All’s 25-year vision, we are seeking a Director, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), to join the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) team that supports Teach For All and its network partners to develop strong MERL systems and generate evidence of our network’s total impact – on holistic student outcomes, participant and alumni leadership, and communities and systems impact.
The Director, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) will lead network partner support initiatives that build local capacity to measure core outcomes and outputs of network partners’ leadership development program. This support includes implementing measurement tools, data systems, and learning routines needed to measure, improve, and communicate partner organizations’ impact.
Sitting within our global organization and reporting to the Senior Director, MERL, the Director of MEL is primarily accountable for strengthening and spreading foundational MEL capacity directly to partners with the greatest needs, utilizing direct technical support and targeted consulting to help them adopt, adapt, and institutionalize MEL systems. Through innovative and proactive partner support, the Director, MEL will be accountable to increasing the number of network partners who are measuring, reporting, and learning from the global network’s shared, core metrics of impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Direct Consulting and Capacity Building for Priority Partners
Organize and lead partner engagements, both virtually and in-person, for network partners experiencing the greatest foundational needs to support their core MEL strategies. This support will focus on building local staff capacity, as well as the development, deployment, and adaption of core impact measurement tools. This includes measuring student, current fellow/participants, and alumni leadership outcomes. This role will also support partners to track key outputs related to the fellowship program from recruitment, selection, matriculation, training, support, and long-term alumni engagement.
- Collaborate with functional counterparts to support partner organizations on program foundations
Work closely with a diverse set of MERL team members and internal experts from other global teams in foundational program design and measurement to support partners to grow the essential program elements and to measure their impact. Where applicable, design and lead select learning experiences and communities of practice to support broader groups of partners to systematically advance their foundational MEL routines. Support in developing new knowledge products and resources about how to improve MERL capacity.
- Contribute to Global MEL Team Reflection and Strategy
Support the Senior Director of MERL by actively participating in and contributing to team action reviews, support regular data diagnostic exercises, coordinate and facilitate ongoing team strategy meetings and reflections. Partner with the Senior Director, MERL to engage in strategic planning for partner MERL support.
