Job Description
AVPN is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to join our Policy team, with additional responsibilities supporting the Engagement team. Reporting to the Policy Director, this role bridges policy development and programme delivery, contributing to AVPN's work in blended finance, AI for Good, and strategic philanthropy. You will collaborate across internal teams and with external partners to support the design and delivery of high-impact initiatives, including AVPN's Global Conference, regional Summits, and policy roundtables. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Policy Director to shape AVPN's policy direction and articulate its value proposition to the social investor ecosystem, at a critical period of organisational growth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. Over time, you may deepen your focus within the Policy team or grow into a cross-functional management role.
Responsibilities
- Support the Policy Director in delivering strategic projects and programmes across blended finance, philanthropy, AI and Technology for Good, and policy innovation.
- Conduct policy research and landscape scans; distill insights from research and stakeholder engagements into briefing notes, talking points, social media posts, and internal summaries.
- Develop presentation decks, proposals, and internal materials to communicate AVPN's policy positioning and strategic value-add.
- Coordinate event logistics and execution in collaboration with the Engagement team, including speaker outreach, RSVP tracking, run-of-show preparation, and on-the-day support.
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination between the Policy and Engagement teams to ensure seamless project and event delivery.
- Where appropriate, manage select policy initiatives and stakeholder engagements under the guidance of the Policy Director.
- Contribute to other initiatives as required, in collaboration with colleagues across AVPN's verticals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public policy, international development, economics, finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in policy research, stakeholder engagement, programme management, or related areas. Experience in consulting, investment banking, public affairs, or other fast-paced, results-oriented environments is an asset.
- Strong research, writing, and synthesis skills across formats and audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder initiatives and contribute to cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to represent AVPN professionally to external partners.
- Detail-oriented and highly organised, with strong ownership of tasks and deadlines.
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Passion for social impact, and demonstrated interest in areas such as sustainable finance, blended finance, impact investing, or philanthropy in Asia.
