Senior Consultant – Global Programme Reviews, Strategy & Evaluation

About the Role

Aleph Strategies is looking for a Senior Consultant to join our team. We maintain a small roster of senior consultants, providing each with 1-2 projects a year. As our portfolio grows, we are looking to bring on another senior consultant to provide high-level expertise to lead programme reviews, conduct organisational reviews, and conduct strategy evaluations.

Specifically, we're looking for someone to:

Lead global programme reviews, including assessment of effectiveness, efficiency, relevance, sustainability, and impact.
Conduct strategic evaluations of complex, multi-country or multi-partner programmes.
Provide senior-level advisory input to strengthen evaluation design, delivery, and implementation.
Facilitate high-level consultations and workshops with senior stakeholders, donors, and partners.
Produce evidence-based recommendations to inform decision-making at leadership and governance levels.
Lead team members independently.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum 20 years of relevant professional experience in international development, humanitarian action, or related fields.
Proven experience in global programme reviews, strategy design and implementation, and strategic evaluations.
Previous service at a senior leadership level within large multinational organisations (e.g., Director, Head of Unit, or equivalent).
Demonstrated expertise in evaluation methodologies and application in complex, multi-country contexts.
Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Advanced degree in international development, public policy, social sciences, or a related field.
Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
Fluent English speaker.
